The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
