Intensive Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the city came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
